Okay, just to clarify. Technically these blogs are less about CKDSradio and more about life in Thailand.
Status Quo
So, Thailand has been in the news a lot lately.
Things like a military coupe tend to make the headlines, especially with so many foreigners living in Thailand.
Right after the coupe, there were a few worrying issues. News papers and TV channels went offline. The only source of news and television were military broadcasts. Old military broadcasts.
Curfews were implemented throughout Thailand (10pm) and rumours that the internet was to be shut down circulated quickly.
The way things were looking, Jo and I were ready to go on an extended holiday while the country sorted itself out.
Now, some months later, you wouldn’t even realise we were living under Marshall law.
The biggest changes?
- Organized crime came face to face with an organized military might.
- People with 8 year old outstanding warrants can no longer bribe their way out of prison.
- Military check points at airports and major ports are common.
- Public transport has improved
- Property development is up
- The public is happier.
