CKDSRadio went mostly off air when live365 died. We had used our budget to advance pay our fees when they died, with no cashflow getting a new license was not happening. We just didn’t have it, we came back a few times using third party sites, but ultimately without265 it wasn’t happening.
A few years ago 365 was revived. I spent some time rebuilding as much of the gear as a could, then it was a matter of building the new site to try to raise some funds on… Project Phoenix. Then covid, Project paused, life was too hard, in retrospect it probably would have been therapeutic, but what can you do.
So here we are project phoenix. Moving the Joomla site that, lets be honest I blew up every few fucking weeks cos it was unstable. Getting us PHP compliant, all the old posts are being migrated and time stamped to when they were originally posted, so the timeline will be preserved, but i will purge the corruption as I go.
Then the old show archives that survived will be uploaded for you guys to listen too, and me and the final DJs will start making some pod casts. Until the day comes, that we do actual live shows again. I am hoping to see the return of DJ Matt, albeit remotely, AV Monkey lives a busy life but who knows, if we harass him enough. DJ Rodders and his movie reviews would be legend. I don’t know if I will be able to twist the Shaw brothers. The Dan would make an awesome return. I know jimmy is pretty much a definite yes. The American Team obviously left because they staged a revolution so they wont be back lol. Despite how that ended i actually loved the American teams and i still think of Aimee and Nef very fondly. No grudges help, there is only so long Americans can live under a British leader before they revolt.
There are some others who are not part of the revolution that wont return. Some are no longer in contact some are too far, the group has broken down and most notably Tasha who sadly passed away after an amazing fight and managed to get married to a loving man before she passed. Honestly its been years and I cried typing this paragraph. See a little of Tasha’s wedding tribute here.
To all of our ex DJs from over the years, even if you were not named above, its Project Phoenix and im calling you home. Who’s coming?
